An 18-year-old Brazilian from Paraná is to be the greatest name of the Brazilian golf this year. Ângela Park finished the Fields Open, played in Hawaii, in third place. The result is the best ever obtained by a Brazilian amongst the best players in the World.

The competition had three rounds, and the Brazilian got the lead in the first two ones. On the third round, however, Ângela ended up tying third place with the American Morgan Pressel and the Japanese Ai Myazato. The three received a prize of US$ 64,288. The first place of the championship ended up in the hands of the American Stacy Prammanasudh.

The excellent place obtained by the Brazilian placed her in the first place in the dispute for the title of Rookie of the Year. That most recent result guaranteed her 75 point in the ranking of the rookies. With a total of 92 points, Ângela is 51 points ahead of the second player in the list, the American Paige Mackenzie.
