Partnership between Embratur and the Brazilian Confederation of Golf launches the official journal about the golf of Brazil
Continuing the actions developed by the project Get to Know Brazil Playing Golf, aimed at disseminating the tourism oriented to playing golf in the courses of Brazil, Embratur, in partnership with the Brazilian Confederation of Golf and the Brazilian Bureau of Golf Tourism, launches the “Golfe do Brasil – Publicação Oficial do Golfe Brasileiro 2008”. In the format of a magazine, the publication provides information about 84 golf courses in Brazil, in a 124-page bilingual edition (Portuguese and English).
The material serves as the main reference to the Brazilian or foreign golfers who are seeking a destination to play golf in Brazil. The objective is to advertise the golf itinerary of Brazil overseas, besides serving as a source of information to the participants of tournaments, professionals, amateurs and entrepreneurs in the area, such as hotels, resorts, golf courses and remainder partners in the development of tourism and golf. The publication “Golf of Brazil” was simultaneously launched in Brazil and England.
In Sao Paulo, the publication was launched during the Gillette Mach 3 Cup – 78th Amateur Golf Tournament in Brazil – 7th Alfa Bank Cup – 1st Mario Gonzalez Cup – the main golf tournament of Brazil (July 16 – 20, in the Sao Paulo Golf Club). In England, the Golf of Brazil was launched on the 16th, during the event "Brazilian Night” – a dinner party that opened the British Open, the best known of the four golf tournaments in the world (part of the Grand Slam of golf). In partnership with Embratur, the Bahiatursa and the IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tourism Operators), the Brazilian Confederation of Golf and the Brazilian Bureau of Golf Tourism sponsored the event to promote Brazil as a tourism destination to golf players.
The ”Golf of Brazil” ensues from an agreement celebrated by EMBRATUR and the Brazilian Confederation of Golf and the Brazilian Bureau of Golf Tourism (BBTG) to disseminate the Brazilian golf courses abroad. It provides information on the location, working hours and characteristics of the golf courses spread all over the country, besides a list of tourism agencies specialized in that sport.
