Sauípe hosts the 7th Brasil golf show. Bahia expecting new undertakings

The 7th edition of the Brasil Golf Show was held from September 24 to 27, at the Costa do Sauípe hotel complex, in the state of Bahia. The participants and guests took advantage of the 4-day event to get closer and do important businesses to the modality.

The event was composed of a forum of debates whose core topic was the sport development in Brazil; of the Brasil Golf Expo, an exhibition area to disclose to the public the latest news of the sector; and f the Golf Trade Tournament / Golf Show Academy, a tournament to the golf players and the golf clinics to beginners.

By the time, Bahia Tourism Secretary, Domingos Leonelli, commented on the perspectives of golf in the state, which is one of the main pools to the sports practice in the country. “In the forthcoming years, eight professional golf courses will be implemented in the state”, he informed. Currently, Bahia has two professional courses: the Sauípe Golf Links, at Costa do Sauípe, and the Iberostar Bahia course, at the Forte Beach.

Of the new courses, at least four will be built in that same region, known as Costa dos Coqueiros. One will be in Baixios where a real estate tourism complex will be built comprising three golf courses. The undertaking is scheduled to be completed in 20 years, and R$ 13.6 billion will be committed to it. The remainder courses will be built at Cajaíba Island, in Arembepe, and at Maçarandupió.

The secretary reaffirmed that Bahia faces this segment as strategic to the tourism development, and intends to intensify the promotion and qualification work. “The action is part of the segmentation strategy of Bahiatursa. We want to qualify the destination by attracting to Bahia tourists with higher purchase power, who will stay longer in the state,” he said. (Information from Panrotas)
