IRON MAIDEN’S DRUMMER PLAYS GOLF IN BRAZIL
Nicko McBrain, drummer of the Iron Maiden heavy metal group, made good use of his travel to Brazil with the tour Somewhere Back in Time 2009 to play golf – a sport that he has been practicing for 20 years. After taking to the stage with the group for more than 63 thousand persons in Sao Paulo, McBrain went to know the Paradise Golf & Lake Resort, in Mogi das Cruzes.
The metal head played with Henrique Fruet, editor of the Brazilian Golf Confederation website and of the Blogolfe, and other two members of the production team. “The course is wonderful; it was a very nice game”, the drummer said to some friends after the game.
From Sao Paulo, the musician went to Belo Horizonte, where he performed on the 18th. On the next day, Thursday, 19, McBrain and two fellows played at the Golf Club of Brasilia. And on the following day they rocked the Federal Capital, before leaving to Chile, in another stage of the tour.
