Brasil es portada del directorio 2007 de la IAGTO (International Association Golf Tour Operator)

Un campo brasilero, el Terravista Golf Course (Trancoso-BA), es la portada de la publicación más importante de los profesionales de golf de turismo en el mundo: el directorio 2007 de la IAGTO.
Presidida por Peter Walton, que realizó en 2005 y 2006 consultorías para la Confederación Brasilera de Golf, mostrando estrategias para un buen desarrollo de la industria del turismo de golf en Brasil, la IAGTO (International Association Golf Tour Operator), reúne cerca de 1000 miembros entre países, resorts y, principalmente, operadores turísticos especializados en el producto golf.
El Terravista Golf Course, presidido por el empresario Michael Gail, es considerado hoy el campo más bonito de América del Sur, y, junto con los campos de Comandatuba Ocean Course, Costa do Sauipe Golf Links, y Plaia do Forte Iberostar Golf Club, forman, en Bahia, el principal destino turístico de golf en nuestro país.
Con algunos hoyos en los riscos, otros al borde de la vegetación atlántica, el Terravista es un campo desafiante y completo
En su editorial la IAGTO hace una mención más a Brasil: “Spread as it is around na enormous country, Brazil’s fledgling golf tourism industry has been given the tools that it needs to present a coordinated golf product to IAGTO operators. The promotional video presented at the 2005 IAGTO Convention showed precisely how the destination can be linked together and sold by operators. Following guidance provided by IAGTO, we are also hopeful that the most appropriate courses will be built in the righ places to develop golf destinations within Brazil. We have recommended that each destination will have a minimum of three 18-hole courses each with 3 entire holes along the sea-front or similar selling points which will become the signature of one of the world’s mos tropically exciting golf destinations”.
