If you go to Campos do Jordão and wish to know more about the city’s history, visit the Boa Vista Palace. Also known as the Government Palace, this attraction was built between 1938 and 1964 to serve as a winter residence to São Paulo’s Governors.
In 1970, the residence became a Museum, at the request of the current Governor Abreu Sodré, and thereafter began to assemble a collection to be exposed to visitors.
At the Museum you can find works by major national artists like Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti, Candido Portinari, Di Cavalcanti and Bruno Giorgi, in an area of almost 3 thousand square meters and more than 100 rooms.
There are also Baroque pieces, furniture from the 17th century, religious art and tapestries. The collection has more than 1,800 pieces and the Museum also receives external exhibitions.
The visit to the Palace is made with the presence of guides that explain each work, during a one hour tour. Visits must be scheduled by phone +55 (12) 3668-9759 or +55 (12) 3668-9700.
It is forbidden to use cameras and video recorders during your visit.
