Pernambuco is one of Brazil's 27 Federative Units

The State of Pernambuco has varied landscapes with plateaus, mountains, dry lands and beaches with lots of reefs and natural pools.

The most popular places are Porto de Galinhas, Carneiros, Cabo de Santo Agostinho and the island cluster of Fernando de Noronha, protected by Unesco as a Natural Heritage of Humanity. Among the main attractions of Noronha are the jumping dolphins, that can be seen through various points of the Islands.

In Recife, the capital, and Olinda, separated only by a bridge, one of the main attractions is the Carnival, that attract people from all over the world. The Galo da Madrugada in Recife, is recognized by the Guinness Book as the largest Carnival in the world and brings together annually more than 2 million people.

Another city quite visited in Pernambuco is Caruaru, also known as the Princesinha do Agreste (Little Princess of the Desert). There you will find the most famous outdoor fair in Brazil, considered a National Cultural Heritage, that enchants by its rich and diverse crafts, folklore manifestations and its varied gastronomic products.
