Conceição Lake is one of the oldest and, therefore, more traditional places of the island of Florianópolis, capital of the state of Santa Catarina. One of the first local villages was established there, with traces of Azorean immigration, which visible by the typical colonial architecture, and in the Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição da Lagoa Church, from 1750.
It is the largest lake of the city, with 15 km of extension. It is the best known tourist spot of Floripa (nickname of the island) and is quite sought after by the lovers of sailing, kite surfing and other water sports. Stand Up Paddle (SUP), jet skis, kayaks and paragliders are also part of the scenario.
If you are looking for excitement, Centrinho da Lagoa will conquer you, as it is full of bars and restaurants that guarantee a lively nightlife and serve seafood, such as crab and oysters. Throughout Rendeiras Avenue, the famous sequências de camarão are very present. Created by fishermen, they consist of various shrimp dishes that are served successively.
