Almécegas I e II
Two waterfalls in Alto Paraíso forming delightful natural pools.
Waterfalls are always a spectacles of nature, especially when they form swimming pools suitable for bathing. This is the case with Almécegas I and II, in Alto Paraíso in Goiás. Almécegas I and IIare located in São Bento Farm, where there is another stunning waterfall: the São Bento, which has a rectangular pit and has hosted several water polo championships.
From the farm’s gatehouse, visitor should drive through a dirt road until they spot the parking lot and the beginning of the trail. The trail to Almécegas I is 1.5 km long, of average difficulty with some steep sections. The site has an observatory facing the waterfall’s wall and a pool where visitors can relax and swim. It is a sought-after place to practice rappel.
Almécegas II is located 300 meters from where people park their cars and its trail is easy. The waterfall has a great pit for bathing and stones on which you can lie down, sunbathe and even enjoy a picnic with friends (remember to take all your trash afterwards).

It is not necessary to hire a guide to do the trails.
