The Lázaro Waterfall is considered one of the best bathing waterfalls in Pirenópolis, located at the Vargem Grande Ecological Preserve, 13 km away from the city center, at Serra dos Pireneus.

The preserve has 390 hectares of virgin Cerrado woods and countless species of plants and animals. Giant anteaters, Pampas deer and jaguars share a safe area to roam around. Snacks and drinks are sold at the starting point of the 1,500-m trail leading to the waterfall.

In addition to being totally safe (with handrails and regular stone pavement), the trail offers stunning natural landscapes. Visitors often find medicinal plants and local fruits along the way, such as buriti, baru, pequi, and cashew. Another great surprise along the way is a smaller waterfall known as Santa Maria, which has a beautiful little beach to relax for a while.

After reaching the 15 m-high Lázaro waterfall, visitors are faced with a charming and delightful pool of water, surrounded by white sand and bathed by the Sun all day long.
