The has perfect rock formations for different levels of rock climbing difficulty. Pedra do Sino is Serra dos Órgãos National Parkne of them.

Highly sought by rock climbers due to its colossal valleys and cliffs, Pedra do Sino also has observation plateaus that provide an overview of the entire Guanabara Bay, the city of Rio, and part of the Paraíba Valley.

The area is reached through an 11-km trail (five to six-hour hike) from the Park headquarters in Teresópolis to the highest point. The first leg of the trail is easier and runs through the woods, with pavement dating back to Empire times.

The Southeast face of Pedra do Sino – the largest climbing wall in Brazil – has some of the most difficult big wall paths (climbing modality in which climbers usually take more than a day to climb) in the country. A special Park permit is required in this case.

Visitors can spend the night at the rock or in shelters and camping areas. Learn more. ;)
