Open in 1967, the TV Tower is one of Lucio Costa’s few architectural projects. The Tower is 224 meters high and has an observatory 75 meters from ground level that allows a 360-degree panoramic view of the city.

The Café da Torre (coffee shop) can be found in the mezzanine and is an excellent place to relax. It has a splendid view of the Praça da Torre and its fountain, the Fonte Luminosa, with the Pilot Plan at the background.

The Tower also had a market (at ground level) with 600 shops offering typical food and crafts from various regions of the Country. Recently revitalized, the market’s entry acquired elevators for wheelchairs and escalators.
