Waterfall whose scenery resembles the Lunar craters.

One of the most interesting places of the Chapada dos Veadeiros, in Alto Paraíso in Goiás, is the Vale da Lua (Moon Valley). But why is that name so unusual? It is because the place has rock formations very similar to the Lunar craters we see in the images from TVs, books and computers.

This rocky valley was formed over 600 million years ago, through the action of the environment on the rocks - wind, rain, heat and the waters of the São Miguel River, that is also a local attraction. The river traverses approximately 1 km between these rocks, which form a series of natural pools, wells, caves and crevices.

To get to Vale da Lua you will need to tread a path of about 900 meters, of easy access. Once in the Valley, you can enjoy the view, bathing in natural pools, sunbathing or just relaxation. The landscape is very different from everything that you are used to seeing.

On rainy days, the location cannot be visited due to the risk of flooding. Other than that, the ride is safe and you don't need a guide.
