Brazilian cuisine varies according to the different regions of the country. The coast of Brasil extends from North to South, and the beaches are locations with delicious foods and dishes. Some of the most sought after flavors by tourists from all over the world are at seafront. Here are some examples.

1) Shrimp in garlic and oil: it’s outrageous, especially when covered with lemon. The shrimp in garlic and oil is a snack commonly found in beach huts or in coastal restaurants. It can also be served on a stick. While some recipes recommend the removal of the shrimp’s head for preparation, others serve it whole. Both are equally tasty.

2) Moqueca: traditional coastal dish, the moqueca maintains some variations, depending on regional differences. In Bahia, this dish bears the unmistakable flavor of coconut milk, which is not used in other regions such as in Espirito Santo. The most appreciated are usually those filled with different types of seafood. Side dishes include rice and cassava flour (also known as cassava or manioc). Served?

3) Crab cakes: commonly consumed as an appetizer in Brasil, crab cakes never seem to fully satisfy you, as it is served in a small shell. The amount, however, is certainly offset by the flavor. The snack is accompanied by lemon and flour.

4) Fried fish: maybe the most traditional and tasty beach dish in the country. Due to its success and taste, this dish is no longer restricted to the coast and was incorporated into the Brazilian citizen’s weekly diet. Rich with omega 3, fish contributes to vascular and brain health. It can be served in many different ways.

5) White cheese: produced through fermentation and coagulation, this type of cheese is commonly made in the Northeast, a region where it is widely enjoyed roasted on the grill. Its recipe became popular and today the white cheese on the grill is consumed in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Bahia and in practically the entire Brazilian coast. Salty and slightly acid, it can be used in other traditional recipes.
