Opened in 1933 in the historical center of São Paulo, the Municipal Market offers approximately 300 stores that sell products such as meat, cheese, dairy products, fish, fruit, coffee and bread.

Gastronomy aficionados and tourists from all over the world walk its narrow halls in search of fresh ingredients. Others visit the market just to enjoy the delicacies of the famous bars and restaurants, or also to try some fresh fruit at the stores.

The Market’s mezzanine area is known for its delicious codfish pastries and supersized baloney sandwiches. The Market’s agenda includes gastronomy events, shows, theater presentations and crafts fairs, making the venue even more appealing.

The building covers an area of 12,600 square meters and a ceiling height of 16 meters. The facade has a sophisticated finish, with stained glass windows created by artist Conrado Sorgenicht Filho and skylights shining natural light inside the building.
