Metamorfose ambulante (Raul Seixas)

For many, the best rock song ever composed by a Brazilian in recent years. Usually when a Brazilian wants to hear rock, they shout the name of the distinguished son of Salvador. Toca Raul! [Play Raul!]

O Vira (Secos e Molhados)

Some say the band Kiss "copied" the visual behavior of this Brazilian band. Discussion aside, this song was extremely important for discussions about sexuality in our country.

Até Quando Esperar (Plebe Rude)

Plebe Rude was a band formed in Brasilia (the capital of rock) and had an important role in society at the time. Their lyrics were used in protest, courageous for a post dictatorship period.

Índios (Legião Urbana)

There's not much to be said. For many, Legião Urbana is the biggest rock band that Brasil has ever had.

Ideologia (Cazuza)

This song was adopted as the national outburst, after a great economic and political crisis that the country experienced.

Polícia (Titãs)

This band formed in Sao Paulo may have a greater significance in certain historical moments of the country. Perhaps it's the band that best represents the Brazilian rock.

Alvorada Voraz (RPM)

More along the lines of pop, the Group was one of the most successful bands in the history of brazilian music. In the 1980s, they made synthesizers their trademark.

Puteiro em João Pessoa (Raimundos)

This is the song which would demarcate a very present territory in brazilian music in the mid-1990s: the satirical songs, whose greatest exponent were the Mamonas Assassinas. The Raimundos were a band of "Forróck", as they called themselves: and if we're talking something critical in Brazilian rock, nothing better than joining Luiz Gonzaga and the Ramones. And, one detail, that’s another band that was born in Brasilia.

Proibida pra Mim (Charlie Brown Jr.)

Chorão was the "poet" for the current generation. Therefore, he is essential. Charlie Brown Jr., appeared in the second half of the 1990 decade, in the city of Santos, is a band that managed to cross very well the paths of rock and hip hop. Despite not being pioneers, they were extremely important for the genre, also propagating the skateboarding and graffiti culture.
