Nestled in downtown Belo Horizonte, next to the Municipal Park, Palácio das Artes was created to encourage the production and dissemination of art in the state of Minas Gerais.
Opened in 1971, the palace has now become one of the largest cultural centers in Latin America, featuring a broad range of galleries, show rooms, movie theaters, library, bookstore, coffee shop, gardens, and a store that sells crafts from all over Minas Gerais.
Inside the 900,000 square-meter architectural complex, visitors dive into an array of artistic expressions and languages, such as operas, theater plays, orchestra concerts, dance performances, film screenings, and exhibitions.
Free admission.
