If you are thinking to run away from the daily stress of big cities, there is nothing better than surround yourself with a lot of nature and fresh air. Chapada dos Guimarães National Park is the most demanded choice for those who want to stay and enjoy the area of 33 thousand hectares. The park is situated 50km away from the capital Cuiabá. From the starting point of the city of Chapada dos Guimarães, the distance to the park is 11km.
The view is beautiful and you can enjoy some of the dozens of waterfalls and trails in the typical Cerrado vegetation, known as the Brazilian savanna. The main attractions are the Circuito das Cachoeiras (Waterfall Circuit), Circuito das Cascatas (Cascades Circuit, formed by six small waterfalls), Mirante da Cachoeira Véu de Noiva (Véu de Noiva Waterfall Lookout with 86m fall), Casa da Pedra (Pedra House - rock cave), Cidade de Pedra (Pedra City - rock formations) and Morro de São Jerônimo (São Jerônimo Hill - 800m altitude and accessible by 5 hours’ hike).
