Filled with attractions for all age ranges, including a children’s park, trails leading to Christ the Redeemer, and picnic areas, the Lage Park offers natural beauty combined with an exquisite architectural ensemble. Its imperial palm trees and European-style gardens make it the perfect spot to sit back and unwind.
Covering an area of over 52 hectares and listed as a historical and cultural heritage site of the city of Rio de Janeiro by the National Artistic and Historical Heritage Institute (IPHAN), the area is covered by the Tijuca National Park territory, amidst the lush Atlantic Forest.
Its main building is the Lage Manor House, a beautiful mansion built in the early 20th century, administrated by the Escola de Artes Visuais. Inside the manor, visitors find a coffee shop and a permanent exhibition of students’ works. Around the estate are several artificial lakes and caves, an aquarium and a tower built by the mansion’s original owner to practice lyrical singing.
