The Inhotim Institute is found in Brumadinho, 60 km from Belo Horizonte, and has a collection of contemporary art with works by artists from all over the world, such as Cildo Meireles, Adriana Varejão, Doug Aitken, Chris Burden, Cristina Iglesias, Helio Oiticica, Vik Muniz and Tunga.
The whole collection is distributed throughout a large park, making the place unique and charming. Everything is organized in 110 acres of visitation in more than 20 galleries, surrounded by huge gardens and trails.
Many galleries have interactive works that allow contact with what is being exposed, turning the experience into something even more unique. Inhotim also has a collection of rare plants from 4,200 different continents.
The Inhotim Institute employs 800 people and develops numerous educational programs for the population of Brumadinho.
You can visit Inhotim virtually and can also download the location map to plan before you go and choose which galleries you wish to see.

Leaving Belo Horizonte through the BR-381 (Fernão Dias Highway), continue towards São Paulo (or Betim). The exit for Brumadinho/Inhotim is well signaled.
