Unique in its purpose, the collection of the Museum of Arts and Crafts (MAO) presents the history of everyday life of the Brazilian worker through their professions – trade crafts, transport, fire, metal and how people had to be creative to survive.
Developed by the Cultural Institute Flavio Gutierrez (ICFG), from a collection of more than 2000 pieces and pre-industrial working instruments in Brasil, the Museum occupies the former railway station of Belo Horizonte, next to the subway stop, where hundreds of workers pass through every day.
MAO is located on a beautiful building on the station square, which in recent years has become a point of social, political and cultural meetings of Belo Horizonte.
MAO does not open on some public holidays.
