Motorboats are small boats that take locals and tourists to areas that can only be reached by boat. This is the main transportation of visitors in Manaus to the Seringal Vila Paraíso Museum, which shares some history behind rubber plantations during the heyday of rubber trading.

An extremely important period in the history of Brazil, the Rubber Cycle included latex extraction activities (raw material used to manufacture rubber) and represented a time of great prosperity in the early 20th century.

The Museum reuses a film set to reproduce an authentic rubber plantation, including all utensils, furniture and buildings, such as the houses of rubber barons, the flour house, the haberdashery shed, the rubber smoking area, and the chapel. The trees are real and still produce a whitish secretion.

Trips to the Museum may include a visit to Praia da Lua [Moon Beach], where visitors can cool off by the Rio Negro banks and enjoy some fried fish delicacies.
