The Beach of Guaratiba is located about 15 km from the center of Prado, in the State of Bahia, and has as main attraction its coral reefs. In the pier at the center of Prado, there are boats and schooners which go to the reefs.

During low tide, you can dive with a snorkel in the crystal clear waters, which ensure the sight of the most diverse species of fish, sea turtles and stingrays.

Another common activity in the region is the observation of humpback whales, which have about 16 meters in height and weigh up to 40 tons. From July to November, the animals leave the Antarctic continent seeking the warm waters of Costa das Baleias to mate and reproduce. In the Reefs of Guaratiba you can even hear the singing of the whales.
