Balneário Camboriú

Add to Favorites Remove from Favorites

Balneário Camboriú is one of the most exciting tourist destinations of Southern Brazil. Located in Santa Catarina, it is one of the busiest seaside resorts and has a very lively nightlife and nine beautiful beaches to choose from, with options for the surfing, ecotourism, and adventure tourism.

During the peak season, the city receives up to five times more visitors than the total number of its population. At night, the clubs and bars of Avenida Atlântica and Barra Sul fill with people, mainly in night clubs, where electronic music is predominant.

The Central Beach has almost 7 km of calm waters. On the promenade, there are craft fairs and kiosks with snacks and coconut water to cool off from the heat. Avenida Atlântica, on the other hand, offers bars, shops and restaurants with tables spread over the sidewalks. Get in one of the boats or schooners that sail by the coast and head to Ilha das Cabras. The tour has shows performed by the crew who dress as pirates and put on a great show for their guests.

Praia do Canto is nearby, a beach where you can appreciate a beautiful view of the city, while bathing in its extremely quiet waters or enjoying the sun on the small strip of beach sand.

Six km away from downtown, Praia das Laranjeiras (the Orange Tree Beach) is located in a small bay and has very calm waters, perfect for swimming and water sports. There you will find a small pier, where the tour boats, bars and restaurants are located. Well known for the presence of rocks and shells, the beach has evidences of the indigenous peoples who inhabited the coastal areas of Santa Catarina.

The Praia do Pinho (the Pine Beach), the first official nudist beach of Brazil and the fifth of the world, is 9 km from downtown and has a campground area, inn, bar and restaurant. There, the rules of conduct are very strict.

If you are into air sports, go to Morro do Careca, because there you will find the ideal point for hang gliding and paragliding. Beyond ramps for hand gliding, there are also walls perfect for climbing and abseiling.
