The event that put Brazil in the international art circle, the Sao Paulo Art Biennial has happened every other year since 1951 at the Ibirapuera Park, in the cosmopolitan city of Sao Paulo.

The Biennial is widely known for its impact on the visual arts world, always promoting tendencies in the field. The event has received over 14 thousand national and international artists from 160 countries and has housed important works, such as the famous Guernica painting by Pablo Picasso.

The program offers several workshops, lectures and debates, in addition to many cultural presentations, such as dance, music and theater performances.

With 25 thousand m² divided in three floors, the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, where the Biennial takes place, is a modern architecture icon. It was designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer and deemed a cultural heritage by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) in Brazil.
